Executive Summary Revision 1
The purpose of this research project is to evaluate the effectiveness of Clemson’s teacher training program, as perceived by graduates of the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in middle grades program. Established in 2003, five cohorts totaling 210 students have graduated, with students emphasizing in one or more of the following areas: Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. This phase of the study will develop effectiveness measures, ultimately used to determine if these graduates perceive their Clemson training as contributing towards their effectiveness as a classroom teacher in the early years of their teaching career.
