Proposal Title: Alumni Assessment, Accountability, and Accreditation (A4) Grant
Date Advertised: April 8, 2008
Date Due: June 24, 2008
Client: Eugene T. Moore School of Education, Clemson University
Point of Contact: Dr. Debi Switzer
Address for Proposal: switzed@clemson.edu Electronic submissions only
Summary: In the first stage, this program is to develop assessment tools to measure program effectiveness.
The second stage (requiring a follow-up proposal) is to implement the tools in a research project to measure effectiveness of various programs in the Eugene T. Moore School of Education, both for current students and program completers now teaching in the schools of South Carolina.
Comments: The person funding the study is the person who gave monies to Clemson to name the school. This person wants to evaluate the impact of the school on South Carolina education by examining 1) the effectiveness of instruction for current students, 2) the overall quality of the program, 3) effectiveness of graduates in teaching and 4) overall impact of the program in South Carolina schools. This evaluation is to give this donor an idea of a return on investment.
Accept or Reject: Accept. With my financial and program review background, it is a natural fit. I will need to work with some additional faculty to get this grant.
